During the fall of 2020, we brought Hassan in as a consultant to help us build out our quality
assurance strategy and reshape our software development lifecycle.
The second he walked into our office, he started observing the behavior and patterns of our 4
teams. Within the first few months, he had proven to us he could quickly analyze our method of
operations, which meant he effortlessly illuminated antipatterns and gaps in our software
development life cycle.
Subsequently he provided the management team with an easily executable plan, where he
addressed those gaps. He expertly considered how the teams work and the team members skill sets,
which helped him pinpoint the changes we needed. We signed up for that plan and gave Hassan the
mandate to make the appropriate changes.
I believe Hassan was successful here at Calldorado because he is a proficient communicator, and he
knows how to embed himself within an organization instantly. Hassan helped put quality assurance
on the agenda in a way it was not before. Before he joined, I asked Hassan to help draw up a quality assurance strategy and framework the teams would adhere to. Hassan took that task to heart.
Based on his findings and understanding of our organizational makeup, concocted a framework that
he has rolled out in the first few months of 2021.
Hassan also acted as a coach and a mentor for the various roles and competencies within
Calldorado. We have improved how we gather requirements, the testing methodology, how we
push code and how we work closer together across the various roles in our agile teams.

If you want somebody that execute with the same dedication as the Terminator, you should target Hassan as you next hire.

Hassan have a non-BS focus on quality and a zero tolerance for waste, and managed to create a team that delivered customer value on a daily base.

I first met Hassan when he also worked for Danske Bank, as I was scavenging through the company for somebody that had manage to crack the quality/test/TDD/BDD part of agile. Which have afterward lead to inspiration for mentoring teams about a whole team approach to development, and indirect is the reason why we today have a cooperation with the author and consultant Janet Gregory.
That is also why we had Hassan come back and speak at our agile conference after he decided to leave Danske Bank.

Hassan is the best QA leader I’ve worked with - a long time ago he made improving software quality his mission, and you feel it working with him on daily basis. Hassan deeply studied and internalized the QA foundational underpinnings and is also current with the latest trends

Hassan knows how things should be done to achieve great results. When he sees something working at below optimal level, he immediately springs into action and come up with multiple ways to make it better. I’ve been very impressed with his people skills - he is good at finding common ground with different stakeholders, and effectively incorporates people’s feedback into his ideas. He is diplomatic and creative - he figures out how to be effective within the culture of the organization to improve quality across.

We worked very closely for the last 9 month, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Hassan introduced QA and built QA teams at large organizations, and at Tradeshift, he is the key driver to taking our quality to world-class level. I’ve observed first-hand his impact on the project we worked on together - he quickly understood the business goals, rolled up his sleeves, and within weeks started significantly contributing to critical customer deadlines. Then, after a bit more time, he started thinking about how to improve the quality processes inside and across teams, and his impact grew. Hassan is expanding his scope to the whole engineering organization and I expect his impact to be as visible there as on projects I’ve directly worked with him.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Hassan for a few years when he was first brought in as an test consultant, and later when Hassan was test lead in our development team. As a regular tester Hassan quickly demonstrated that

he was fully able to understand the sometimes very complex systems and methodologies that make up the electronic trading space. Later as test lead he grew the test team and provided continuously valuable input to devs and business in the general development.

Hassan is an ambitious and able professional - but also with a great personality; it is never boring to be working with Hassan. He is good at creating a relaxed and accommodating environment while at the same time getting the stuff done.

Hassan is one of those guys who picks up the loose balls and runs with them. When I took over the CFD & Listed Department I had still a lot of work to do in the old department. On one meeting with Hassan a few weeks into the new job, he gave me a list of things (not related to test) that he was doing that I should have been doing. Hassan just does the things people miss and then afterwards looks for an owner of the task, or as in my case ran with the extra workload until I had capacity. So a big thank you Hassan!

More technically Hassan has run the Test team (4 in DK, 4 in India) with next to no need for micro management. He is very good technically and extremely motivated and well organized. As I said above you don’t need to ask him to do things as he probably already did them. So that how his team is run. He is one of the few testers in Saxo bank that has wide developer respect – even from developers outside his team. He has been used as the example of how to run a test unit. His reports and preparation for all meetings is always used as an example for the rest of the organization.

In my time as an external consultant in Saxo Bank, I have had the great pleasure to have Hassan as my Test Lead. In that period I have learned to know Hassan as a very dedicated lead, with incredible empathetic and rarely seen communicative abilities. I've confidently hired Hassan Bugti on October 1st 2009 as PrettyGoodTesting's first Junior Test Consultant ever.
